STI Policy Council Meeting May 2021
On May 20th, the Dutch Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation organized the annual plenary meeting of the European Councils for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy. Unfortunately, a physical meeting was not yet possible. So, all participants logged into the meeting from their home offices across the whole of Europe. Nevertheless, the meeting was very successful, including lively discussions and exciting keynotes by Oscar Delnooz and Michiel Sweers.
This year’s theme was knowledge security, a delicate and highly relevant topic. International research cooperation is essential to a wealthy knowledge society. However, large-scale knowledge sharing also requires careful consideration of knowledge security.
Again, this successful meeting demonstrated the value and importance of this policy council network. The Dutch Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation is looking forward to the next meeting in Vienna.
