Science contributes to well-being and welfare. The Dutch research system has an outstanding international reputation. Our country can be proud of that.
The excellent position of Dutch science is not self-evident. Maintenance and investments are needed to secure that research can play its societal role in the future.
The Dutch government has three ambitions for the Dutch research system: 1) Dutch science is of world-class quality, 2) Dutch science is better linked with society and industry and has maximal impact, and 3) Dutch science will also in 2025 be a breeding place for talent. With its advices the AWTI aims to contribute to the realisation of these ambitions.
